Excessive Sweating Treatment
What is Hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating is a common issue that usually effects the armpits, hands, and feet, causing significant distress and anxiety for many individuals. Referred to as 'the silent handicap,' numerous people struggle with this condition without being aware of the available treatment options. For individuals suffering with this condition it can effect every aspect of their daily life, from their ability to simply hold a pen or go to the gym without returning covered in sweat.
What Can Be Done?
Anti-Wrinkle injections can effectively alleviate sweating in these areas by blocking nerve signals that control perspiration. With these sweat glands in a more relaxed state, they no longer over produce sweat and that excessive sweat is no longer seen or felt at the skins surface. While these injections are commonly used for the hands and feet, they are currently only approved for use in the armpits.
How Long will Results Last?
The treatment is usually very effective; resulting in an almost complete cessation of underarm or facial sweating that can last up to six months from just one treatment session. It is important to note that injections for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) will not cure the condition. Symptoms will eventually return and further treatments will be required.
